She founded the non-profit, Good Earth and believes in bridging the value-action gap in sustainability for every human being. Erika explains that, “We’re moving towards a world that must be retrofitted for sustainable implementations and my goal is to keep it intuitive and integrated in order to facilitate participation.” Her weekly program Good Earth with Erika Martin does a wonderful job integrating people from all walks of life and their unique sustainable lifestyle stories.
While working as a Broadcast Meteorologist, Erika changed her graduate major from an M.S. in Operational Meteorology to an M.B.A. in Energy and Sustainability. Years of working in the field of Meteorology, inclined her to acquire business and leadership skills, and study Clean Energy and Sustainability Frameworks that could help her better understand the true price of natural disasters, and our behavior towards the planet that is influencing our weather today. Under the guidance of Dr. Jay Beeks, Dr. Ron Biron, and Dr. Mike Mooiman at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, NH, Erika has been able to develop her message for the public as far as sustainability is concerned. “Keep Sustainability simple and all global citizens will be able to participate.”
Erika attended Northfield Mount Hermon School. She’s earned a B.S. in Meteorology from Mississippi State University, and an M.B.A in Energy and Sustainability from Franklin Pierce University.
