About the Show

Del Shores and Emerson Collins are both known for their politically incorrect humor and incisive commentary, and The Del & Emerson Show is designed to provoke, engage and entertain listeners on pop culture, politics, entertainment and the sordid stories that are capturing the nation’s attention each week.  With a focus on LGBT interests and issues, it will make you laugh, it will make you think and it will make your jaw drop as they challenge each other, special guests and the audience to enjoy looking at everything from the politically important to the truly trivial in a new and entertaining way.




Del Shores is a writer, director, producer, standup comedian and activist who has written, directed and produced successfully across studio and independent film, network and cable television and regional and national touring theatre.  His seven plays have run collectively for over eight years in Los Angeles, won over one hundred Los Angeles theatre awards and been produced across the world.  Four of his plays have been turned into films, beginning with Daddy’s Dyin’ (Who’s Got The Will?).  Shores wrote, directed and produced the films for his cult-classic Sordid Lives, Blues For Willadean, and most recently Southern Baptist Sissies.  In television, Shores wrote and produced for Dharma and Greg and Queer as Folk as well as wrote, directed and produced all twelve episodes of Sordid Lives: The Series for LOGO.  Shores has played 134 cities in three of his one-man shows, all available on DVD.  Shores has won numerous awards for writing, directing and producing including two NAACP Awards, the GLAAD Award for Best LA Theatre Production, two Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle’s Awards for World Premiere of an Outstanding New Play, the LA Weekly Lifetime Achievement Award, the FilmOut San Diego Lifetime Achievement Award and the Stanley Kramer Emerging Artist Award.




Emerson Collins has worked as an actor and producer in film, theatre and television.  Emerson is currently appearing on BRAVO’s newest hit The People’s Couchand writing as a regular contributor to the Dallas Voice.  Emerson produced and starred in the film Southern Baptist Sissies, winning Best Actor in a Feature Film from the Red Dirt International Film Festival before the film played independent theaters in fifteen cities.  Emerson co-produced and acted in Sordid Lives: The Series for LOGO and produced the film Blues For Willadean. In theatre, Emerson produced the national tour of Sordid Lives and Southern Baptist Sissies while performing onstage in Sissies and produced the world premiere production of Del Shores’ LA Drama Critic’s Circle Award-winning Yellow.  Emerson’s award-winning regional theatre work includes Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for The Secret Garden and Best Actor in a Play for Southern Baptist Sissies and additional nominations for The Outsiders, A Man of No Importance and the title roles in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and the world premiere musical Hans Brinker or the Silver Skates.  Emerson directed and produced Del Shores’ three one-man show DVDs.
